Freeloaders" Exhibition at the Darwin Museum

On June 2, the VNIIP – FSC VIEV participated in the grand opening (Grand opening of the exhibition "Freeloaders: The History of Parasites in Five Blockbusters" at the State Darwin Museum) of the "Freeloaders” exhibition at the Darwin Museum.
«"The topic of parasites traditionally evokes disgust or revulsion," comments Anna Aleksandrova, the Exhibition's Director. "But we decided to take a different approach. We offer viewers a terrifying but engaging "movie" about creatures that don't kill instantly. They do it slowly, over years, manipulating the body and mind. And this scenario written by nature itself is far more captivating than any fictional story."
A.I. Klyukina, Director of the Darwin Museum, addressed the guests with a welcoming speech.
The following Exhibition’s guests and partners discussed parasitism as a crucial evolutionary phenomenon: Mikhail V. Arisov, Head of the VNIIP – FSC VIEV, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor of the RAS; Olga A. Loginova, Researcher in the Laboratory of Parasite Taxonomy and Evolution at the Center for Parasitology of the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the RAS, Candidate of Veterinary Sciences; Sergei E. Spiridonov, Director of the Center for Parasitology, Doctor of Biological Sciences; Yuri Y. Dgebuadze, Head of the Laboratory of Aquatic Community Ecology and Invasions of the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the RAS, Head of the General Biology Section at the Department of Biological Sciences of the RAS, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, and Academician of the RAS; and Irina V. Golubeva, Director of the Creative Union Association for the Promotion of Culture and Art.
Mikhail V. Arisov was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation.
