Obituary. Viktor Y. Shubaderov (1937–2025)
Viktor Yakovlevich Shubaderov, Scientific Secretary of the VNIIP – FSC VIEV, and Candidate of Veterinary Sciences passed away at the age of 89 on November 15, 2025. The staff of the VNIIP – FSC VIEV expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Viktor Yakovlevich.
Viktor Yakovlevich worked for the benefit of our Institute for over 58 years. He came a difficult way from supervisor of the Veterinary Section to a leading scientist and expert in helminthology. He earned respect and reputation in scientific circles not only for his work achievements, but also for his wonderful human qualities: kind heartedness, compassion, tact, and attention to people. Viktor Yakovlevich made a significant contribution to the development of veterinary science. His research in the epizootology of anoplocephaliasis, and studies on pathogens of echinococcosis are of great scientific and practical significance. His findings have been incorporated into guidelines for the control of helminthiasis in animals.
Viktor Yakovlevich made a significant contribution to the training of scientific personnel and provided extensive advisory and scientific methodological assistance to post-graduate students and young scientists. As the Institute's Scientific Secretary, he actively participated in organizing scientific research and introducing new developments into production for 40 years.
The bright image of Viktor Yakovlevich will remain in the memory of his students, colleagues, and comrades forever.
