Scientific specialties

Dissertation Defense Board D 006.011.01 for PhD and Master's theses in specialty 03.02.11 «Parasitology» (biological and veterinary sciences)

Dissertation Defense Board of All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Fundamental and Applied Parasitology of Animals and Plants named after K.I. Skryabin is authorized to accept PhD and Master's theses in biological and veterinary sciences.

The predecessor organization of the currently functioning Dissertation Defense Board was the Scientific Board which was established in accordance with the order of Main Directorate of Veterinary Medicine  No. 37 of July 3, 1935. The Scientific Board began its work on April 26, 1938.

Based on the resolution No. 558 of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR, the Scientific Board gained the right to award PhD degrees in veterinary, medicine and biology in specialty Helminthology.

Hereafter, in accordance with the decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 5586 of July 25, 1955, the Scientific Board of the Institute was authorized to accept Master's theses in biological and veterinary sciences.

The world famous scientists such as K.I. Skryabin, R.S. Schulz, N.V. Demidov, E.E. Shumakovich, V.S. Ershov, A.S. Bessonov, E.S. Leykina, V.I. Petrochenko, N.N. Plotnikov, N.N. Ozerkovskaya, T.S. Skarbilovich who made a great contribution to the development of helminthological science, were  members of the Scientific Board.

Nowadays, highly skilled specialists of the Institute as well as  leading research and educational institutions representing all divisions of parasitology, are  members of the Dissertation Defense Board what ensures comprehensive and objective assessment of works submitted for defense.
