Editor-in-Chief of the journal «Medical Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases»; member of Editorial Board of journals « Molecular Medicine», «Journal of microbiology, epidemiology and immunobiology» and « Epidemiology and infectious diseases». Chairman of the task group «Parasitic diseases» RAS, expert of the Higher Attestation Commission of RF.
Basic publications: more than 400 scientific works including 12 monographs and 5 headlines (Atlas of clinical parasitology and tropical medicine, 2010) were published.
Sergiev V.O. has a scientific school: 20 doctoral and PhD theses were defended under his supervision.
