PARASITIC DISEASES IN WILD AND DOMESTIC CHINCHILLAS

Summary

Parasitic fauna of wild and domestic chinchillas is different. Peruvian animals from Machu-Picchu are infected with Trichocephalus sp. which not causes pathology in digestive tract. At the same time, domestic chinchillas were infected with Lamblia sp. That disease manifested with enteritis. A possibility of contamination from humans and other domestic animals is not excluded.
