Summary. Paramphistomum infection of cattle is widely spread at the territory of the Vologda Region. Total mollusk number in stable biotopes increased from May to September. Infection of animals occurred over all pasture period. Infected animals and the intermediate hosts (mollusks attributed to family Planorbidae including the survived winter in biotopes) are the main sources of infection. The terms of infection and appearance of the first eggs vary according to climatic belts and periods of grazing and characteristics of the latter (cultured, over wetted and swamped). Paramphistomum infection is recorded in cattle of all ages but youngsters are the most susceptible to infection.
